Design and Implementation of Artificially Intelligent Microcontroller based Chess Opponent
This project is an attempt to design an Artificially Intelligent Microcontroller based Chess Opponent (MAICO) which can compete against the user and calculate its moves. In this work, a chess playing system has been designed which implements an interface allowing a computer to control chess movements using PC’s parallel port and AT89C51. It is a fully automated system integrated with microcontr...
متن کاملAn Artificially Intelligent Jazz Performer
This paper presents a computational model for simulating the behavior of a jazz bass player during live performance. In jazz performance there is a strikingly large gap between the actually played music and the instructions given in a chord grid. Making use of several artificial intelligence paradigms, we try to bridge this gap by considering the two critical points: the experience acquired by ...
متن کاملArtificially Intelligent Adaptive Tutoring System
This paper presents an adaptive tutoring system based on a Markov Decision Process model. Applying this model to a tutoring system is a unique concept in computer based training. After a detailed derivation of the model, results from experiments are presented that show the Markov Decision Process model is an effective tool for adding intelligence to computer based tutoring.
متن کاملTheory Grounding in Embodied Artificially Intelligent Systems
Theory grounding is suggested as a way to address the unresolved cognitive science issues of systematicity and productivity. Theory grounding involves grounding the theory skills and knowledge of an embodied artificially intelligent (AI) system by developing theory skills and knowledge from the bottom up. It is proposed that theory grounded AI systems should be patterned after the psychological...
متن کاملUtility function security in artificially intelligent agents
The notion of ‘wireheading’, or direct reward centre stimulation of the brain, is a wellknown concept in neuroscience. In this paper, we examine the corresponding issue of reward (utility) function integrity in artificially intelligent machines. We survey the relevant literature and propose a number of potential solutions to ensure the integrity of our artificial assistants. Overall, we conclud...
